Volunteer in October

Hello!

★ Great In-Person Options  — October

These October opportunities are especially well-suited for a JSL group outing: low barrier to entry, social, and not physically demanding (unless noted). Grab a friend and get out there! Make sure to wear your JSL gear and snap a photo!

We decided to participate in the STRIVE event listed below. A separate email has gone out with details of how to participate.

About the event:

  • Fall at the Gardens: Harvest Illuminated – October 22 & 24 – This is their largest event of the year, and they have a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the event, including setup, guest assistance, and helping with event activities.

They are still looking for volunteers for Harvest on Thursday (5:00–8:00 p.m.) and Saturday (5:00–9:00 p.m.). Volunteers should plan to arrive at the Gardens by 4:30 p.m.

They especially need help in two areas:

  • Grounds/Pumpkin Patrol: Help keep guests on designated pathways and ensure the crowd flows smoothly. Ideally, we would have at least four  volunteers covering the grounds at all times.

  • Ticket Check-In: Help check tickets at the entrance as guests arrive.  (They might have this covered, but it would be nice to have at least two additional volunteers as backup for this area.)

I also have all the ongoing opps and a list of nonprofits shared here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Ed8b5F3-G3EcwWKyutDmeYbI3buFEBNA?usp=sharing

As always, please feel free to send opportunities my way or share with the group!

All the best,

Steph
